Once upon a very Florida time, a kid from Indialantic Elementary met a kid from Gemini Elementary when they both landed in Mrs. Bugenski’s art class at Hoover Jr. High. It was the ‘90s, and their friendship was forged in papier-mâché and glitter glue.
They stayed close through high school at Melbourne, then took on the world—one as a museum director, the other as a television editor and story producer. Fast-forward a few decades (and several kids later), and they’ve reunited just blocks from where it all began.
Now, they're teaming up to bring your kids the kind of summer they’ll never forget—one full of color, chaos, curiosity, and a whole lot of glue sticks.

FounderArtist, designer, and creator of all things delightfully unruly. With two decades of creative experience and a deep love for hands-on learning, Nico runs The Creative Playground from her home studio—offering kids a space to imagine, explore, and just maybe get a little weird (in the best way).

Co-CreatorSara is a Melbourne Beach native raised in a creative home—her mother an artist and floral designer, her father a craftsman and kite maker. After earning a liberal arts degree in 2004, she co-ran a floral design business with her mother before serving as Curator of Education at the Foosaner Art Museum in Eau Gallie. There, she developed hands-on programming and led a thriving summer art camp for over 500 students.
Now a mother to twin daughters and a dedicated volunteer and educator, Sara designs experiences that nurture the wild, brilliant energy children naturally carry. With a focus on foundational art skills and thoughtful technique, her classes offer young artists more than just process—they provide the tools to shape their creativity into something lasting.
